Listening to the Ten56 Girls with their soulful voices and incredibly talented guitar playing outside on a warm summer night, surrounded by fir trees, would indeed be perfect bliss. The music was truly amazing; I have been a fan of Amy and Emily for twenty years, and I believe they're just getting started, showing no signs of aging or slowing down.
The venue at the Oregon Zoo was a huge disappointment. Initially seeming like the perfect location, recent restrictions on lawn chair height forced those unable to use low-back sand chairs to the back, behind trees and bushes, seriously impacting the show experience.
The decision by the Oregon Zoo to only allow low-back sand chairs on the concert lawn resulted in us being banished to an undesirable area near the alcohol tent, surrounded by loud, inebriated individuals, obstructed views, and uncomfortable conditions for those who can't stand for extended periods. This situation hindered the enjoyment of Amy and Emily's performance, which is the main reason for attending live shows.
I understand that this may not be the best platform to voice my concerns, but I feel compelled to do so. I urge for pressure on the Oregon Zoo to end the discrimination against less agile fans and permit taller camp chairs. Alternatively, they should designate an area for those needing higher seating, instead of relegating them to the back for the same cost as those with better views.
